According to transfer source Dean Jones, Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing Chelsea’s Armando Broja as a striker during the winter window of 2024.
However, Jones believes that any deal for Broja would be a “big call” for the Wolves. Despite a promising first half of the 2023/24 Premier League season, Wolves have yet to enhance Gary O’Neil’s side as the winter transfer window nears its end.
Wolverhampton Wanderers’ squad has been depleted due to injuries, suspensions, and international departures since the beginning of the year.
To counter this, they intend to increase their squad depth by February 1st.
While Armando Broja has regained fitness at Chelsea, the return of other players may push him down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, making him a viable target for Wolves.
Wolves are in serious need of a good center striker. The loan departures of Sasa Kalajdzic to Eintracht Frankfurt and Fabio Silva to Rangers have left Matheus Cunha as the only senior option to play in the No. 9 position. Furthermore, top scorer Hwang Hee-chan is competing in the Asia Cup with South Korea and may not return to Molineux until mid-February, underscoring the need for reinforcements up front.
According to The Athletic, Chelsea are willing to trade Armando Broja during the winter transfer window, and Fulham, West Ham United, and Wolverhampton Wanderers are all interested. However, The Telegraph’s Matt Law writes that Chelsea values the 22-year-old at £50 million, a number that likely beyond Wanderers’ budget.
