Midfielder arrives from Leeds United.
Swindon Town are thrilled to announce the permanent signing of Leeds United forward Sean McGurk, subject to EFL sanction.
The 20-year-old rose through Wigan Athletic’s academy ranks to the U18 level before joining Leeds United in 2021.
McGurk previously joined the Latics at the U14 level and impressed as he advanced through the Club’s Academy to the U18 level, where he was a part of their outstanding FA Youth Cup run, scoring against Manchester United in a 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford in the Quarter-Final.
The midfielder had previously played for Wigan’s U18s and U23s, and was part of the squad that won the Professional Development League National Championship against Charlton Athletic in May 2021.
McGurk continued to improve and perfect his trade after moving to Leeds for three seasons. The attacking midfielder gained crucial first-team experience in the EFL Trophy in 21/22 and 22/23, as well as demonstrating his talent in Premier League 2.
This season, McGurk has continued to impress in Premier League 2, scoring four goals and three assists in eight games, and he hopes to bring similar form to Swindon Town in the second half of the 2023/24 season.
