Baltimore Orioles outfielder wins his arbitration case against the team and will be earning $6.3 million dollars

According to John Heyman of MLB Network, the Baltimore Orioles outfielder has won his arbitration appeal against the team and will earn $6.3 million in 2024. Before the hearing, the Orioles offered Hays $5.85 million in 2024.

The 28-year-old from Jacksonville University has been with the team since being chosen in 2016. He had been the organization’s future starting center fielder since he was called up to the majors, but injuries limited his playing time, causing him to miss the whole 2019 season.

Hays made the 2023 All-Star squad for the first time in his career following an outstanding first half of the season. Prior to the All-Star break, he led the American League in hitting average. He also demonstrated his defensive abilities and was a nominee for the Glove Glove Award.

The outfielder is eligible for arbitration again next season before entering free agency. He was a part of the organization before they began to rebuild and is now a key piece of the team that has objectives of winning everything for the city of Baltimore.

No matter if Hays returns to the team next year or leaves for free agency, he will be remembered for giving it his all every day, making run-saving, and even game-saving, catches.
It’s fantastic to know that the fans will be able to appreciate the kind of player he’s turned out to be since making his debut in 2017.
