Players on the 49ers and Chiefs are barred from gambling in Vegas, until the game ends

The NFL absolutely prohibits anyone in Las Vegas on official Super Bowl business, including 49ers and Chiefs players, from gambling at all. However, this will come to an end on Sunday night, following the game.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the NFL and NFL Players Association have agreed that the ban on gambling by 49ers and Chiefs players will dissolve as soon as the game concludes. So, any players who want to celebrate at a casino are welcome to do so – just not on NFL games.

So this week, 49ers and Chiefs players are not permitted to play blackjack, craps, or slot machines. However, on Sunday night, they will be.

Nobody in the NFL is ever permitted to wager on the NFL. So, while some sportsbooks are currently accepting bets on the 2024 season, no 49ers, Chiefs, or other team members are permitted to place any of those bets.

Players from the other 30 teams in Las Vegas this week can gamble in casinos but not on NFL games.

While on business trips, league personnel are not permitted to engage in any form of betting, whether on sports or elsewhere. That prohibition applies 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and does not cease with the Super Bowl.
