JUST IN : Newcastle United leading race ahead of top PL clubs in signing Brentford key player

Ivan Toney is apparently being pursued by Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United in an effort to sign him from Brentford ahead of Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United and Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur.

Newcastle United, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur are all interested in acquiring Ivan Toney from Premier League opponents Brentford, according to Football Transfers.

Ivan Toney of Brentford has been linked to Newcastle United.
Toney will be brought to St. James’ Park by Newcastle manager Eddie Howe in the midst of the season to help his team’s prospects of finishing in the top four of the Premier League standings.

.According to Football Transfers, the 27-year-old striker may get bids from Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in January 2024.

The striker for England’s national team is now serving a suspension and won’t be able to play until January 2024.

After Rafael Benitez sold Ivan Toney, Eddie Howe tried to buy him back.
In January 2024, Newcastle United will probably have to fork over a sizable sum of money to recruit Ivan Toney.

Brentford reportedly wants up to £80 million for the England international in January, according to a 2023 article in The Times.

It’s interesting to think that Toney may be leading Newcastle right now.
The 27-year-old left Northampton Town in 2015 and relocated to Newcastle.

The striker spent time on loan at Wigan Athletic and Barnsley among other clubs since he struggled to have a significant effect in the Magpies’ first team.

In 2018, Newcastle transferred Toney to Peterborough United.

When he was in charge of the Magpies at the time, Rafael Benitez, a former manager of Liverpool and Real Madrid, did not think Toney had what it took to thrive in the first team under his tutelage.

That has turned out to be a mistake, as we now understand.

In the Premier League, Toney has so far made 68 appearances.

In those contests, the striker has tallied 32 goals and provided nine assists.
