Aston Villa are braced for a departure of one of their players – despite the summer transfer window slamming shut for English clubs.

According to rumours, Leander Dendoncker of Aston Villa is a target for Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahce.

Prior to their transfer deadline, Football Insider reports that Fenerbahce is “readying a last-gasp move” for the midfielder. On Friday, September 15, Turkey’s transfer window closes; a last-minute effort to sign the Belgian may succeed.

He is reportedly “free to leave the club” because Unai Emery’s plans do not include him as a result of a number of new acquisitions in the center-midfield position.
