JUST IN : Nottingham Forest 31-year-old fantastic top midfielder now set for Turkey move

With a move to Turkey in the works for the former Newcastle United midfielder, Jonjo Shelvey appears to be on the verge of leaving the Nottingham Forest hellhole.

Jonjo Shelvey was transferred from Newcastle United to Nottingham Forest in January of this year for a two and a half year contract.

Shelvey, 31, has only made eight appearances for Steve Cooper’s team and hasn’t been seen since April due to a falling out with the Forest manager. According to The Telegraph, Shelvey now appears to be moving to Turkey.

Shelvey and Steve Cooper split after Shelvey was fired
Shelvey had a training-ground altercation with Steve Cooper after learning he wouldn’t be playing against Liverpool, and Cooper has stuck by his decision ever since.

While the transfer market has closed in England, it is still open in Turkey, and Rizespor of the Super Lig are seeking to sign the former England player on a season-long loan.

Shelvey can’t really afford to be fussy about where he goes next if he wants to keep playing football because it is evident that he has no future at Nottingham Forest at this point.

It’s disappointing to watch a former Newcastle player slip so far from favor.

Although Shelvey’s dedication was sometimes questioned and he was often criticized for being lazy by Newcastle fans, there is no disputing that he was a talented player on his best days.

After his departure, Newcastle fans gave Shelvey a wonderful send-off.
For a very long time, under Steve Bruce, his ability to pick out a long pass was unmatched, and when you’re playing hoof-ball, it is really crucial.

After spending seven years with the team, the Toon Army appreciated him so much that, after moving on to Nottingham Forest, he was welcomed back to Newcastle to witness his old team play Southampton in the Carabao Cup semifinal.

I hope the deal goes through for Shelvey so he can restart his career.
