Don Goodman praised Nottingham Forest’s Callum Hudson-Odoi after his strike won the Reds a point against Burnley. It was the youngster’s debut, and boy did he make an impression.
Last night, the pundit was on Sky Sports as a co-commentator. Goodman was complimentary about Forest and was thrilled by Hudson-Odoi’s goal.
This was far from a decent showing by the Reds. It was patchy and belied a team that hadn’t appreciated the 16-day break since their last game.
Still, the newcomers will need some time to adjust to their new surroundings. There were some positives from yesterday night’s game, but Forest did not deserve to win.
Goodman was amazed by the magical moment that enabled the Reds win all three points. He praised Forest’s Hudson-Odoi live on Sky Sports following his outstanding debut goal.
“What a strike,” he told Sky Sports. It really came out of nowhere. Burnley was in command. It demonstrates that at this level, all it takes is one stroke of true genius.
“Everything revolves around Callum Hudson-Odoi.” That’s how he imagined it in his dreams, and he’s achieved it. “Welcome to City Grounds.”
Goodman lauds Forest standout Hudson-Odoi.
The Reds needed to ensure they were well-stocked after the departure of Brennan Johnson. Given that Hudson-Odoi cost just £3 million they might have just hit the jackpot.
It’s nice to hear Goodman praise him and he’s absolutely spot on. This goal was exactly how Hudson-Odoi will have imagined it in his dreams and he will now be craving more.
At just 22-years-old it’s hard to imagine how Forest have got him so cheap this summer. Yes, the player has lost his way a little bit but Chelsea might have dropped the ball a little bit with this one.
This is just one game for Hudson-Odoi at Forest. However, his goal will live long in the memory and hopefully, there is more to come from the talented youngster
