Charlton Athletic have confirmed a new injury blow, with a key player out for several weeks.

Tayo Edun will miss time with a hamstring injury, according to Charlton Athletic head coach Michael Appleton.

Terell Thomas replaced the former Fulham, Blackburn and Lincoln player in today’s 3-1 triumph over Wycombe Wanderers.

“It was a strange one because he finished the session on Thursday and just felt a little bit of discomfort,” Appleton explained. “We didn’t know at that point if he’d be okay or if he’d be out.” We had him examined early Friday morning, and it found a little rupture in the tendon rather than the muscle.

“He could be three or four weeks, but he came in today and it’s not really bothering him.” But if he truly opens up and isn’t careful, it’ll be one of those situations where you’re out for three months due to a full rip.
