Matt Turner reveals why he gets chills every time he plays for Nottingham Forest.

Matt Turner has spoken out about the environment at the City Ground since his summer arrival from Arsenal.

Turner, 29, opened out about his life in Nottingham, expressing his admiration for the Reds’ fan base.

Turner, an American international goalkeeper, joined the Reds in a move worth up to £10 million, and the former Arsenal man says he’s settled in well at the club and in the city.

Turner has surprised Forest supporters with his exploits on the pitch, amid opposition from fellow new recruit Odysseas Vlachodimos.

“That was my first encounter with it, and as a Forest player, walking out of that tunnel every time gives me goosebumps and chills.” It makes an incredible amount of noise.

“When you have a good passage of play, when you get a good chance in, you can really feel the energy start to build, and as players, we definitely feed off that.”

“And I think as the opposing team, as a visiting team, you know you don’t want that to happen.” You don’t want the crowd to become involved in the game in that way.

“So it’s funny that I’ve been able to see both sides of it.”
