JUST IN : Howe issues 2 players injury / suspension update ahead of West Ham trip

Eddie Howe recently spoke to the media, providing an update on the injury situation ahead of Sunday’s Premier League trip to West Ham.

The manager has disclosed that late checks will be performed on Callum Wilson and Joelinton, who are ‘the closest’ to returning, but he is unable to predict if they will be fit for this weekend’s game.

He believes that Harvey Barnes (toe) is the only ‘long-term’ injury, implying that Sven Botman won’t be out for long, but the Dutchman has been ruled out for Sunday, which means Fabian Schar and Jamaal Lascelles may have to play again.

Howe on the team’s injuries and suspensions heading into Sunday’s game:

“The injury list doesn’t look great, but aside from Harvey [Harvey Barnes], I don’t think there’s anything long-term there, just some short-term pain for us.”

Ezoic”We’ll see how Callum [Wilson] and Joelinton feel.” They’re probably the two closest.

“Anthony [Gordon] has been suspended, which is another setback for us.” Sven [Botman] isn’t going to make it.

“We’ve had a few injuries, and players have stepped up to fill the void.” It provides the impression that everyone is involved. We still have some very good players on the field, as evidenced on Wednesday.”

Howe on the need of refocusing this weekend:

“I’m just overjoyed with the performance on Wednesday.” The feeling that follows will hopefully last a long time. We must now redirect our energy and attention to West Ham.

“We know it will be a difficult game so we have to get our psychology right.”
