Sunderland fans have had a difficult week. It would have been difficult to see Newcastle beat PSG 4-1 on Wednesday night, but they were just pounded by local rivals Middlesbrough on Saturday lunchtime.
Boro won 4-0 after scoring all of their goals in the second half against a 10-man Sunderland team that absolutely disintegrated.
Just minutes after Middlesbrough took the lead, Matt Crooks added salt to the wounds by imitating the Alan Shearer celebration in front of the home crowd at the Stadium of Light.
When we went down, the Mackems laughed and urged us to enjoy Burton away, but how the tables have now turned.
Personally, I’d want to see them advance. Some would like to see them rot in the EFL, but I for one would love to see us spank them at St James’ Park!
