According to manager Phil Parkinson, there is a strong sense of “mutual respect” between Notts County and their League Two competitor, Wrexham. These two teams, who are currently separated by just one place in the League Two standings, were involved in a thrilling battle for the National League championship last season, ultimately won by Wrexham. In the 2022-23 National League season, Wrexham clinched the title, securing a four-point lead over Notts County. However, despite this, Notts County, who progressed through the play-offs, currently hold a three-point advantage over third-placed Wrexham in the League Two table.
Phil Parkinson shared his thoughts on the upcoming clash between the two teams, expressing familiarity and admiration. He stated, “We understand their style of play, and they understand ours. There’s a deep mutual respect between both clubs and their respective teams, largely due to the intense competition we experienced last season. I believe our performance helped raise the profile of the National League.”
