As of now, AC Milan’s management has no immediate plans to make any midfield signings during the January transfer window, despite the challenging circumstances the team is facing.
According to Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), the midfield situation for AC Milan in the upcoming weeks is not ideal. Currently, Stefano Pioli is without Yunus Musah and Tommaso Pobega, and Ismael Bennacer is expected to leave soon due to his call-up for the African Cup of Nations in January.
Yunus Musah is recovering from a muscle strain sustained after the Newcastle United game, undergoing individual training sessions, and is uncertain for the upcoming match against Sassuolo. His potential return may not happen until the beginning of 2024. On the other hand, Tommaso Pobega underwent tendon repair surgery to address a left rectus femoris issue, sidelining him for at least four months.
Despite these challenges and the likely departure of Bennacer, the report suggests that AC Milan’s management has no intentions of making any signings in the midfield during the January transfer window. This decision is made even in the face of ongoing transfer rumors linking players like Samuele Ricci and Assan Ouedraogo to the club.
