BREAKING NEWS : Auburn tiger running back has been withdraws from transfer portal

After initially entering the transfer portal on January 1, Auburn running back Brian Battie has decided to withdraw his name, as reported by On3 Sports’ Pete Nakos on Tuesday evening. Battie, a junior from Sarasota, Fla., played in all 13 games for Auburn in 2023, showcasing his versatility by rushing for 227 yards and a touchdown on 51 carries. Additionally, he contributed significantly in the kick return game, accumulating 645 yards on 28 returns throughout the season.

One of Battie’s standout performances occurred on September 23 against Texas A&M, where he rushed for 59 yards on eight carries. His sole touchdown of the season came on November 11 against Arkansas. Before joining Auburn, Battie spent three seasons with USF, where he earned over 1,400 kick return yards, including an impressive 650 yards and three kick return touchdowns in 2021, leading to All-American honors that same year.

In his collegiate career, Battie has amassed 1,842 yards and 10 touchdowns from the backfield in three seasons with the Bulls. With his decision to withdraw from the transfer portal, Battie is poised to contribute to Auburn’s running back group, which includes returners Damari Alston, Christian Burnett, Jeremiah Cobb, Jarquez Hunter, Sean Jackson, Justin Jones, and Luke Reebals, barring any unforeseen changes.
