BREAKING NEWS : Swindon Town has announces the departure of another potential star after 2 :0 victory against bradford city

Cheltenham Town has signed midfielder Liam Kinsella from Swindon Town on an 18-month contract that runs until the summer of 2025.

The 27-year-old joined Swindon last summer and has made 27 appearances for the club in all competitions.

Town have also signed Hull defender Andy Smith on loan until the end of the season.

The 22-year-old has played 67 loan appearances for Grimsby over the last two seasons.

Smith told the club’s official website: “Ever since I knew there was interest from the club, I was really excited by it and I wanted to come here straight away.”

Kinsella began his career with Walsall, where he spent several years under Cheltenham manager Darrell Clarke.

“He’s a really steady performer. “Whether it’s with his performance or his energy levels,” Clarke explained.

“He gives us another option in the middle of the park and with a lot of games to fit in – everyone is going to be needed and Liam adds that bit more strength in depth.”
