Newcastle United are now close to announces the signing of another key player before transfer deadline

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has offered a robust response to speculations linking his club with Aston Villa star Jacob Ramsey.
Newcastle United have reportedly expressed an interest in Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey in the final days of the transfer window.

According to The Athletic, Newcastle has made a proposal for the 22-year-old, with Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich also keen.

Any signings by The Magpies before Thursday’s deadline would be the result of a player leaving the club.Eddie Howe believes it is ‘impossible’ for Newcastle to sign any players in transfer window unless a player leaves first. Ramsey is valued by Villa at more than £50 million.
However, Newcastle’s manager twice denied his club’s interest in the Villa academy graduate before of Tuesday night’s game at Villa Park (8:15pm kick-off).
“That is incorrect,” Howe said when asked about Newcastle’s interest in Ramsey, before denying any offer had been made. The England Under-21 international has made ten Premier League appearances for Aston Villa this season, scoring once.

“We are waiting to see what happens,” Howe said of the transfer window’s final days. “The scenario is tricky and unpredictable. We cannot bring in a player without also losing a player.

Howe also claimed that Kieran Trippier was the only Newcastle player he knew of who had received an official bid this month. Bayern Munich made an offer of roughly £13 million for the England international, which Newcastle refused.

Miguel Almiron, Callum Wilson, and Jamaal Lascelles have all been linked with transfers away this month. Lascelles and Wilson are now injured, although Almiron is expected to return from illness against Aston Villa on Tuesday night.
