Ipswich Town are now close to announces the signing of another star before transfer deadline today

Ipswich Town are interested in acquiring Eintracht Frankfurt striker Jessic Ngankam, according to a German newspaper.
According to fussball.news journalist Christopher Michel, the Blues are one of three parties interested in signing the 23-year-old on loan until the end of the season.

Luton Town of the Premier League and Royal Antwerp of the Belgian Pro League are rumored to have inquired about his availability, while Hellas Verona and Mainz have also been linked.

Ngankam began his career at Hertha Berlin. He transferred to Greuther Furth following a brief loan spell in 2021/22, but returned to the capital a year later.

A move to Frankfurt followed in July 2023, but with only 23 appearances across all competitions, the club is apparently willing to let him depart on loan.

Egypt international Omar Marmoush and Wolves’ Sasa Kalajdzic are both ahead of him in the pecking order, although Hugo Ekitike remains linked with a move from PSG.

Ngankam has played 15 Bundesliga games this season, but has yet to score. He has also played in the UEFA Conference League, scoring a goal and assisting against Levski Sofia in qualification.

His other goals came in a 7-0 DFB Pokal victory over Lokomotive Leipzig, in which he scored twice.

The forward has represented Germany at several junior levels, including five games for the under-21s in 2023, scoring once.

A exit from Deutsche Bank Park must be finalized by 5 p.m. on Thursday, as German teams’ transfer deadlines finish sooner than the rest of Europe.

Meanwhile, The Express claims that Blackburn Rovers are ‘categorically refuse to sell’ Town target Sam Gallagher because they do not have a successor lined up. The 28-year-old scored for Jon Dahl Tomasson’s team in yesterday’s FA Cup victory over Wrexham.
