Said Benrahma has been to France in preparation for a move to Lyon from West Ham, but Ed Aarons believes there are still obstacles to be resolved before the deal can be finalized.
According to the Guardian journalist’s personal Twitter account (1 February), the Algeria international traveled to France ahead of a probable deadline day move, with the clubs agreeing on a loan-to-buy deal.
However, there are still concerns with the agent’s fees for the transfer, so it has not been entirely agreed upon, but the player has travelled for a medical, and Lyon are hopeful that a deal will be done before deadline.

This move had been on the edge for a time, but it appeared that something was holding it back, despite the fact that money had already been agreed upon.
However, Benrahma’s travel over the pond to France indicates that he is keen on the move, and a deal is anticipated to be completed soon.
Fulham are also reportedly attempting to hijack the deal, adding to the drama on deadline day, but Benrahma is now in France and would almost certainly have to fly back to London if he were to finalize a move to Craven Cottage.
It’s one to keep an eye on in the coming hours because this trade has already taken so many twists and turns, but Lyon appears to be his new destination.
West Ham are aiming to cash in any way and may try to surprise fans with a surprise arrival to cover his departure, but don’t hold your breath on that one.
