Birmingham City has announces the signing of another £15 Million-Rated Gem, after transfer close

Birmingham City Boss Keen To Reunite With £15 Million-Rated Gem

The January transfer window closed about two weeks ago, but Birmingham City is already preparing for a busy summer, according to the latest sources.

The Blues have had a disappointing season thus far, with a 3-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion in the West Midlands derby in October under previous head coach John Eustace, who was recently appointed at Blackburn Rovers.
Wayne Rooney was controversially appointed as Eustace’s replacement at St. Andrew’s, with the club being sixth in the Championship. Tony Mowbray is now charged with leading Birmingham to survival, as the club is only three points above the drop zone after losing two successive games in England’s second division.

During the winter transfer window, Mowbray was able to improve the team by adding South Korean international Seung-ho Paik on a free transfer and Andre Dozzell on loan from fellow strugglers Queens Park Rangers. The 60-year-old also reconnected with Alex Pritchard, acquiring the playmaker from Sunderland for a small amount on deadline day.

Despite the fact that relegation to the third tier of English football is now a genuine prospect for the Blues, the club has already began to prepare for the summer transfer window, when Mowbray will have more money to spend on players.

According to journalist Alan Nixon, Birmingham City are hoping to sign Manchester United attacker Amad Diallo on loan before the beginning of the 2024/25 campaign, but face competition from Championship rivals Watford. The report claims that the only issue with a possible deal is the Ivorian’s wages as the Red Devils are expecting suitors to pay the majority of his weekly earnings.

Diallo currently boasts a market value of £15 million, as per Transfermarkt, and Sportrac states that the winger is on £29,000 per week at Old Trafford, despite his limited game-time.

The former Atalanta man has experience working with Mowbray from his time at the Stadium of Light. Under the Birmingham boss, Diallo made 42 appearances in all competitions, scoring 14 goals and recording four assists as the Black Cats reached the playoff semi-final last season.

The only way this transfer is even possibly possible is if Birmingham City can stay in the Championship for another season. However, it is doubtful given Diallo’s ability to presently play in one of Europe’s top five leagues.

Furthermore, the attacker does not want to leave Manchester United, even on loan. Despite his scary minutes with the English giants, The Real EFL reported in November that Diallo wanted to stay at his current club to compete for a spot, which is why a January move fell through, despite interest from numerous clubs. This is unlikely to alter during the next six months.
