2 Championship players that Ipswich Town should sign for free this summer

The Tractor Boys should seek this out-of-contract combo during the summer transfer window.
The Tractor Boys were promoted to the second tier the previous season and have quickly established themselves as a leading candidate for automatic promotion to the Premier League.
Back-to-back promotions would be an incredible feat for the club, with Kieran McKenna receiving a lot of praise for his efforts as manager of the Suffolk outfit.

Last year’s summer transfer window saw Ipswich make significant investments to bridge the gap between the second and third divisions, allowing them to maintain their high level of competitiveness.

However, extra strengthening may be required this summer, regardless of whether the squad achieves a top flight spot or not.

While there will undoubtedly be money to spend, here are two free agency signings from other Championship clubs that the club should seek at the end of the season.

Callum O’Hare

If O’Hare leaves Coventry City, he will face stiff competition this summer.

The midfielder is one of the Championship’s standout performers, having returned to full fitness after suffering a hamstring injury before the start of last season, followed by a significant knee condition.

The Sky Blues hope to sign the 25-year-old to a new contract, but no agreement has yet been struck.
Ipswich should be all over this, since O’Hare would be an excellent addition to any of the Championship’s elite sides, and if they are promoted to the Premier League, he will be an even more attractive target.

O’Hare is a flexible player who can play in an advanced midfield role while still being at ease in a deeper position. He can also add goals to the team, having already surpassed his best score in the Championship this season with more than two months to play.

He might pose a serious challenge to Conor Chaplin, who has been a standout player for Ipswich this season.

As a free agent, signing him would be a major coup for the Tractor Boys.

Liam Cullen

Ipswich hunted for a new forward during the January transfer window, with George Hirst’s injury highlighting the importance of having appropriate cover in that position.

Kieffer Moore was signed on loan from Bournemouth until the end of the season, although a long-term solution will most certainly be required in the summer.
This area will undoubtedly need to be improved if Kayden Jackson leaves at the conclusion of the season, let alone if promotion to the first flight is achieved.

Cullen, 24, might be a good option to add depth to the squad, as he has experience at this level from his stint at Swansea City.

While he isn’t prolific enough to become McKenna’s starting striker, he should fit in well with the Tractor Boys’ style of play and be at ease providing cover for a Premier League team.

As a possible free agent, this may be a wise signing for the Suffolk side looking to improve their options in the final third.
