Crysencio Summerville has missed too many Leeds training sessions
Leeds United could be without several important players for their FA Cup fifth-round match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.
Daniel Farke has indicated that Crynsecio Summerville is one of the players that may be a huge doubt for the game.
The 22-year-old winger has a sore ankle and missed “too many training sessions” in recent weeks.
Summerville has been absolutely fantastic for the Whites this season. He has been one of the standout players under Farke, with 15 goals and eight assists in the Championship so far.
Farke thinks that playing week after week is a “new experience” for Summerville, and there will be injury problems in “He has to learn to adapt to” the long season.
Summerville hasn’t scored in Leeds’ last two games, and Farke has admitted that the Netherlands winger hasn’t trained properly, which has disrupted his rhythm.
What Farke stated about Summerville:
“It’s never easy because 46 games, two cup competitions for a young player who was not used to playing week in and week out, it’s a new experience for him and his body,” Farke told the Yorkshire Evening Post.
“We have to be cautious because he is one of the star performers with a lot of end results. numerous opponents try to play aggressively against him; he takes numerous hits and knocks, but he should not compromise his quality in one-on-one duels. There will be minor impacts and injuries, which he must learn to adapt to.
There are no complaints about this. It’s been challenging for him in recent weeks; it’s been a little stop-and-go, and he hasn’t had many training sessions, which isn’t good for rhythm.”
Leeds United could be missing a few important players.
After an emotionally charged thriller against Leicester City, Farke would have preferred a week off to keep his squad healthy and fresh.
However, games are coming thick and fast, and Leeds may choose the league over the cup. It implies Farke may make a significant alteration to the roster to keep some of his players fresh.
Facing Chelsea, who recently lost the Carabao Cup final to Liverpool, seems ideal at the moment, but Leeds has other interests.
Ipswich Town and Southampton are breathing down their necks, while Leeds may believe they can cut the gap with Leicester at the top. Chris Sutton says it’s unfortunate and predicts the Whites will lose.
Farke also announced that Patrick Bamford, Georginio Rutter, and Dan James are uncertain for the game.
