Angel Reese posts heartbreaking goodbye to the LSU Tiger she will miss most when she leaves for WNBA

Angel had a close connection with LSU.

As Angel Reese prepares to leave the LSU Tigers women’s basketball team to pursue a career in the WNBA, she couldn’t leave Baton Rouge without saying goodbye to one tiger in particular. The emotional moment was not for the faint-hearted.
No, her favorite LSU Tiger wasn’t Olivia Dunne or Flau’jae Johnson. Mike was a real live tiger.

“Oh my gosh,” Reese murmured with a broken heart as she watched Mike the Tiger walk regally by, realizing she had taken him for granted during the previous two years.

“I’ll miss being able to see a live tiger on campus every day,” the potential top-10 WNBA Draft pick wrote on Instagram.

Mike the Tiger is an LSU favorite.
According to the LSU website, Mike the Tiger is the only live tiger on a college campus in the United States. Mike the Tiger can be seen for free, and he even has his own social media pages.

The Tiger Habitat is situated on North Stadium Drive in Baton Rouge, between the Bernie Moore Track Stadium and the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, where Reese played home games for Kim Mulkey’s team. It’s across the street from Tiger Stadium, where Mike performs before LSU football games.

It’s a good thing Angel Reese visited him when she did. The next day, he had to stay inside due to the possibility of inclement weather. With her time on campus coming to an end before the WNBA Draft on Monday, April 15, Angel made sure not to depart without meeting Mike one last time.
