DONE DEAL : Calgary Stampeders announced the trade of another American offensive lineman

CALGARY — The Calgary Stampeders announced on Friday that they had signed American offensive lineman Eric Smith.

The Atlanta native has appeared in four National Football League games, two with the New York Giants, one with the Dallas Cowboys, and one with the Arizona Cardinals. He has also attended training camps and practice squads for the Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, New England Patriots, and Tennessee Titans.

Smith attended the University of Virginia for four seasons prior to signing with Miami as an undrafted free agent in 2017. He appeared in 45 games for the Cavaliers, including 44 starts, including all 36 at right tackle in his final three seasons.

Smith made his tackle debut in 2013, becoming only the fourth true freshman in school history. He competed in the 2017 Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama.
