Roughriders offensive lineman Logan Bandy announces retirement

Bandy, 24, played 29 games for the CFL club in the last two years.
Logan Bandy will retire from the Canadian Football League, according to his social media page.
The 24-year-old offensive lineman for the Saskatchewan Roughriders announced on Friday via Instagram that he is leaving the game after two seasons in green and white.

“Crazy to think after all these years I’m calling it a career,” the writer wrote in the piece. “I’m glad for the opportunity to share the field with so many of my brothers and play for some fantastic organizations along the way. “Thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way.”

The Riders selected the 6-foot-5, 285-pound Calgary native in the fifth round of the 2021 Canadian Football League Draft. He returned to the University of Calgary that season to play for the Dinos before joining the Riders in 2022.

Bandy appeared in 29 CFL games over the last two years, starting 15 of them at center. He primarily served as the team’s backup lineman.

With the Riders preparing to begin training camp on May 12, Bandy’s retirement provides an opportunity for a rookie offensive lineman to advance through the ranks.
