Next season, Coventry City fans will have more opportunities to see their club live on television. Sky Sports’ new arrangement with the EFL will include at least 24 live Coventry City matches next season.
The £935 million deal was signed in April, and Sky Sports will broadcast more than 1,000 EFL games next season. Mark Robins will hope Sky Blues supporters see another play-off bid after the broadcaster promised to show at least half of their games in the 2024/25 season. Teams in League One are guaranteed 20 live games.
All opening weekend, final day, midweek, and bank holiday fixtures, including Easter, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day, will be shown on television.
Each entire weekend of EFL games will feature ten live matches, three from the Championship, two from League One, and two from League Two, all televised live on Saturdays at 12:30 pm. All 15 play-off matches, 93 Carabao Cup matches, and 127 EFL Trophy matches will be televised live.
All games will have live commentary, but unlike the previous red button facility, they will be aired on a new channel named Sky Sports+, with the ability to pause and rewind. All games will include a minimum of eight cameras.
The fixture list will be announced on Wednesday, June 26 at 9 a.m. According to Sky, broadcast selections, dates, and times for August and September matches will be determined in early July, and all picks through January will be confirmed before the season begins.
