BREAKING NEWS : QPR has confirm the price valued of 27-year-old AFCON goalkeeper

Stanley Nwabali stopped two penalty kicks in the AFCON 2023 semi-final, leading Nigeria to a victory over South Africa’s Bafana Bafana. Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Bobo Nwabali has been valued at ₦2.245 billion by South African Premiership club Chippa United, according to Soccernet.ng.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper stunned Nigerian football fans in Ivory Coast. In his first competition with the Super Eagles, the Chippa United goalkeeper preserved four clean sheets in seven games, helping the three-time AFCON winners finish second after losing to the hosts in the AFCON 2023 final.

Nwabali saved Teboho Mokoena and Evidence Makgopa from 12 yards in the penalty shootout, as the Super Eagles defeated South Africa to go to the AFCON 2023 final.

Following his outstanding performance in Africa’s most important competition, various clubs abroad began to keep an eye on the former Enyimba International player.

Queens Park Rangers, Royal Union Saint-Gilloise, Kaizer Chiefs, and Saudi Arabian Al-Ettifaq were all believed to have interested in the 1.96m tall goalie.

Chippa United CEO Siviwe Mpengesi acknowledged that his team is in talks with other football teams over Nwabali’s future after the 1.97m tall goalkeeper revealed he will not renew his contract with the Chilli Boys this summer, as previously reported by Soccernet.ng.

Chippa United is looking to sell Nigeria’s first-choice goalkeeper for around £1.3 million (R30 million or ₦2.245 billion), according to South African media sources.

Kaizer Chiefs are unwilling to pay that amount, implying a move abroad for Nwabali, as the asking price is deemed reasonable by all other clubs interested. The Nigerian’s current contract with Chippa United runs until the summer of 2026.
