Tyreece Campbell has signed a new deal with Charlton Athletic.
The 20-year-old winger was set to become a free agent at the end of June, but the Addicks would still be owed compensation due to his age.
However, Campbell has signed a two-year contract extension with an additional 12-month club option.
The academy product, who joined the League One club when he was nine, appeared in 40 games in all competitions last season.
“I’ve enjoyed working under Nathan Jones,” Campbell stated on Charlton’s official website. “He expects a lot of us as players, and he knows how to get the most out of us. I’ve learned a lot.
“I’m already looking forward to next season.” The entire team is upbeat; we all have the same aim, and maybe we can achieve it.”
Charlton manager Jones said: “I’m thrilled Tyreece has signed a new deal with the club. He’s an excellent young player with speed, skill, and great one-on-one abilities.
“He’s been with the club for a number of years, progressing through the academy and emerging as one of our game changers near the conclusion of the season.
“I’m pleased I’ll be able to continue working with him and continuing to watch and support his development, as he has plenty of potential.”
