Portuguese star says goodbye in social media post as Swansea City move edges closer

Swansea City are believed to have agreed a fee for the midfielder. Goncalo Franco has written a thank-you letter to supporters as his move to Swansea City appears to be imminent.

WalesOnline understands that Swansea have negotiated a deal with Portuguese side Moreirense for the midfielder, which would be viewed as a triumph for the club.

Franco is regarded as a defensive midfielder, which would expand head coach Luke Williams’ options in the engine room.

Before joining Moreirense in 2020, where he has made 100 senior appearances, Franco began his career at Leixoes.

His time in Portugal appears to be coming to an end, as the 23-year-old bids farewell on Instagram.

He wrote, “September 1, 2020, is and will always be a date that will not be forgotten.” At 19 years old, I signed my first professional deal at 1. Franco might be South Korean star winger Eom Ji-sung is reportedly expected to join the club.
