BREAKING NEWS : NBA Suspends Jazz Guard Kris Dunn For Two Games After

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Jazz guard Kris Dunn has been suspended for two games after fighting Houston Rockets player Jabari Smith Jr. during a game.

The NBA confirmed Dunn’s ban on Sunday, March 24.

The fight occurred during Utah’s loss in Houston the day before. Smith Jr. was also suspended for his involvement in the altercation with Dunn.

On Sunday, the league released the following statement on Dunn and Smith Jr.’s punishments.

“Joe Dumars, Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operations, announced today that Utah Jazz guard Kris Dunn has been suspended two games without pay for starting an altercation and throwing a punch at Houston Rockets forward Jabari Smith Jr., who has already been suspended one game for fighting with Dunn. The incident occurred with 11:55 remaining in the second quarter of the Rockets’ 147-119 victory over the Jazz at the Toyota Center on Saturday, March 23. Both Dunn and Smith Jr. were given technical fouls and dismissed. Dunn will begin serving his suspension on Monday, March 25, when the Jazz host the Dallas Mavericks. Smith Jr. will serve his sentence that night, when the Rockets face the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Jazz lost 147-119 against the Rockets on Saturday night.

Before being ejected, Dunn had two points on 1-3 field goals. He also had one rebound in six minutes on the court.
Dunn will miss Utah’s next game, which is at home against Dallas. He will also miss the Jazz’s game against the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday, March 27.

With the loss, the Jazz dropped to 29-42 this season. Utah now has the NBA’s ninth-worst record.
