CONFIRMED : Rotherham United has confirmed the signing of another 24 years old striker

Rotherham United has confirmed the signing of Nigerian forward Joseph Hungbo, who was born in Lambeth, on a season-long loan from FC Nürnberg, according to the club’s official website.

Joseph Hungbo began his football career with Hillyfielders FC before joining Crystal Palace in 2009.

He spent a decade with the Eagles, beginning at the U9 level and progressing to captain the U18 team before receiving a two-year scholarship in 2016.

Hungbo left Crystal Palace in the summer of 2019 to join Watford, where he became a fixture in the U23 squad and made his first-team debut in the Emirates FA Cup against Tranmere Rovers.

His growth continued with loan spells at Aldershot Town and Scottish Premiership side Ross County during the 2021/22 season, when he scored seven goals in 33 games.

Hungbo’s outstanding performance earned him the Young Player and Players’ Young Player of the Year titles, as well as the club and league Goal of the Season accolades for a magnificent free-kick against Dundee.

He is Rotherham United’s 11th signing in the summer transfer window under manager Steve Evans.

The club emphasized that the contract is subject to FA ratification.
