TEAMtalk understands that Burnley is one of several Premier League clubs interested in Millwall’s Romain Esse.
Esse has received glowing praises at Millwall since breaking into the first-team in the second half of last season.
The 18-year-old scored his first professional goal for the club against Middlesbrough on the first day of the season, and he has made 22 first-team appearances for The Lions in all.
Burnley manager Vincent Kompany is a great fan of Esse and regards the England U19 international as a future star.
Kompany wants to bring in some of the best young talent in the country and nurture it at Burnley before potentially selling it for a lot of money.
Millwall are hesitant to lose their academy product, but expect interest and offers for the attacking midfielder in January or next summer.
Esse has appeared in nine of Millwall’s 11 games this season in all competitions, indicating that he is a player capable of making an impact right now.
His primary position is offensive midfielder, but he can also play further forward if needed.
