Ex-QPR co-owner Tony Fernandes has come under criticism after sharing a half-naked image of himself receiving a massage during a meeting.

Former QPR co-owner Tony Fernandes is facing criticism for posting a partially unclothed picture of himself receiving a massage during a business meeting. In July, Fernandes, who also heads AirAsia, resigned from his 12-year position at Loftus Road to focus on other business interests, particularly the Malaysian budget airline. It was evident that the demanding workload had taken a toll on the 59-year-old, as he described his week as ‘stressful’ in a LinkedIn post accompanying the image. He mentioned his admiration for the Indonesian and AirAsia culture, which allowed him to have a massage during a management meeting.

This post has since been deleted, and Fernandes has received significant backlash on social media. Fans criticized him as “unprofessional” and labeled his behavior as “inappropriate and absurd.” One user even suggested that some CEOs should refrain from using LinkedIn.

Fernandes, the Malaysian businessman who acquired Queens Park Rangers in 2011, described his 12-year tenure at Loftus Road as “an incredible period of highs and lows.” The west London club had a challenging season, finishing 20th in the Championship last term.

QPR’s journey during Fernandes’s ownership saw relegation to the Championship in their first full season, but they swiftly returned to the top-flight. Unfortunately, since their 2015 relegation, they have only managed one top-10 finish in the second-tier. In the previous season, they finished 20th in the Championship under the management of Gary Ainsworth, following the dismissal of former manager Neil Critchley in February, who had joined the club after Michael Beale’s departure to Rangers.
