Huddersfield Town, who are currently managerless, have approached former Birmingham City manager John Eustace about the managerial job at the John Smith’s Stadium, TEAMtalk can exclusively reveal.
The Championship strugglers are looking for a new manager following the dismissal of Darren Moore earlier this week. Moore was let go after only three wins in 23 matches in all competitions this season.
Huddersfield, who haven’t won since Boxing Day, are currently 21st in the Championship, three points above the relegation zone.
Several names have been associated with the position at Huddersfield, including former Sheffield United manager Paul Heckingbottom and ex-Swansea manager Michael Duff.
Huddersfield are eager to chat with Eustace to evaluate his interest in following Moore at the Terriers.
Eustace is highly regarded in coaching circles after impressing at Birmingham until being abruptly fired in October and replaced by Wayne Rooney.
Eustace was Birmingham’s manager for 15 months, and after 11 games, the team was in the Championship’s top six. Rooney, on the other hand, lost nine of 15 games during a disastrous tenure at St Andrews.
Eustace, 44, has been associated with a number of posts since leaving Birmingham, and it is unclear whether he would be interested in taking over Huddersfield or waiting to see what other opportunities arise.
