Nottingham Forest transfer news, as the Reds join Barcelona and Everton in their pursuit of a Brazilian wonderkid.
According to a rumor, Nottingham Forest and Barcelona are among the clubs interested in Brazilian wonderkid Gabriel Moscardo.
Forest have been extensively recruiting Brazilian players since their promotion to the Premier League, with four now in the Reds’ first team squad: Danilo, Felipe, Andrey Santos, and Murillo. Meanwhile, midfielder Gustavo Scarpa is on loan at Olympiacos.
According to Brazilian site IG Esporte, another Brazilian player could walk through the City Ground’s doors. This is due to reports that the Reds, along with Barcelona and Everton, are interested in Corinthians midfielder Gabriel Moscardo.
The 17-year-old has attracted the attention of clubs in Europe, who can now sign players from Brazil much more easily because of post-Brexit work permit rules. Said rules mean players from outside of the UK cannot sign for English clubs until they are 18, but that will not be a problem for Moscardo, who will celebrate his birthday next week (September 28).
Previous talks over a move to Chelsea have now broken down, opening the door for Forest and their newest transfer rivals to make a swoop for the talented teenager. There could be a stumbling block, though, with Corinthians said to be “demanding at least €30m” for their top prospect, including €25m up front.
The player is also said to have a €100m release clause, but that almost certainly will not be triggered at this stage
