What Lautaro Martinez said about Inter Milan on his recent interview

Lautaro Martinez has repeatedly stated his desire to remain in Nerazzurri colors, having turned into a fan favorite among Inter fans at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. “You never know in football, but I can say that I’m very happy to be here,” he said recently.

Martinez is expected to obtain a contract extension by the end of the year, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. With his current contract set to expire in the summer of 2026, Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio are anticipated to offer at least a two-year agreement, committing the Argentine prodigy to Inter until 2028.

The senior management’s interests are currently elsewhere, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Federico Dimarco, and Denzel Dumfries at the top of their renewal wishlist. Alejandro Camano and the club have already established the initial dialogues. There is no rush to reach an agreement because the two sides have complete trust in each other.

Lautaro, who has lately taken over leadership duties, is expected to continue at Inter for the foreseeable future and possibly beyond, despite interest from other major teams such as Manchester United.

Inter and Martinez: Our Opinion

Inter have discovered an offensive gem in the Racing Club youth product, and it is in everyone’s best interests for Lautaro to sign a contract extension. However, it may be some time before we see that.
