Caitlin Clark made Angel Reese and LSU pay for mocking Iowa in regrettable pregame video

LSU’s taunting video appeared to give Clark some additional drive.
In preparation for their dramatic NCAA championship rematch with Caitlin Clark and Iowa in the Elite 8, the LSU squad provided extra incentive for the Hawkeyes by imitating their legendary “High School Musical” warm-up video with their own team musical performance. Then Caitlin Clark got them to change their tune.
Clark didn’t need any more motivation after the sour taste Angel Reese left in her mouth in last year’s championship game, but LSU pushed her harder, and she reacted.

The NCAA’s all-time leading scorer poured in 41 points, including nine three-pointers, to propel her team back to the Final Four and ruin LSU’s season.

LSU’s pregame video provided Iowa motivation.
Reese and her teammates selected to lip sync “How Far I’ll Go” from Moana, with Last-Tear Poa, Hailey Van Lith, and Flau’jae Johnson performing the lead roles.

It appeared to be an obvious tribute to the viral TikTok video of the whole Iowa squad dancing out to a song from High School Musical during warmups for a game in the 2023 NCAA Tournament.

Just one day before their Sweet 16 game against UCLA, the Tigers released a team video mocking the two items, milk and cookies and Louisiana spicy sauce, to which they were linked in the infamous LA Times piece.

It was the ideal joke to make following a victory, but LSU’s choice to film a similar video before seeing what Clark had in store for them proved to be a costly error.
