LATEST UPDATE : QPR midfielder send emotional farewell message to fans ahead of summer move

Isaac Hayden will return to Newcastle United this summer following a successful loan transfer to QPR. After having his move to Standard Liege in Belgium cut short, Isaac Hayden joined QPR in January with the goal of keeping a relegation-threatened R’s side in the Championship. QPR, led by Marti Cifuentes, who replaced Gareth AInsworth in the dugout at Loftus Road, were able to pull themselves out of relegation danger with a remarkable 4-0 win over play-off chasing Leeds United, ensuring they went into the final day already safe from relegation.

Hayden played 17 times for QPR during his spell at the club and featured in every game following his debut back in February. Upon leaving Loftus Road, the 29-year-old penned an emotional farewell post on Instagram, writing: ‘Where to start, from joining on Feb 1st in the relegation zone, to ending the season today with a 3rd victory in a row

 

and securing safety last weekend officially with a game to spare. It has been a pleasure to play for this club. I want to firstly thank the owners, Christian and the manager for giving me the opportunity, the set of lads I have shared a dressing room with have been amazing and top class, the back room staff who have sacrificed a lot and sacrificed so much to aid us, and the fans’ continuous support of the squad and me since I joined. It’s a memory I’ll cherish for the rest of my life. Who knows what the future holds, but it has been an honor, and I am confident that this club is only going up. Forever a range The 29-year-old will now return to Tyneside, where he has two years remaining on his current contract. Hayden has not played for the Magpies since December 2021 and is anticipated to leave this summer, either temporarily or permanently.

Hayden joined Newcastle United from Arsenal ahead of the 2016/17 Championship-winning season, when he played 33 games and became a fan favourite in the north east due to his hardworking and harsh tackling style of play.
