Top Premier League team is pressing hard to sign West Ham’s excellent future player.

Lucas Paqueta of West Ham United could face more January transfer market bids, as Newcastle United were interested in him this summer.

As Newcastle United makes its long-awaited return to European football tonight, all eyes will be on the Champions League.

Milan is teeming with ecstatic Geordies ahead of Tuesday night’s match between the Magpies and European giants AC Milan.
Meanwhile, here is your Newcastle United transfer roundup.

Newcastle United ‘almost’ bought West Ham United player Lucas Paqueta this summer, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

The Brazilian was of course linked with an £80 million move to Manchester City near the close of the transfer window, a deal that could yet happen if the player’s warmth with Pep Guardiola on the touchline last weekend is any indication.

Newcastle United’s interest in Paqueta was confirmed by Romando, although that faded once money was spent on AC Milan’s Sandro Tonali. “Another deal that nearly happened this summer was Lucas Paqueta, who was targeted by Manchester City,” he told CaughtOffside. Of course, clubs are now anticipating the conclusion of the inquiry tale.

“Newcastle were also interested back in May, but then they never sent proposals as their focus was on Sandro Tonali. Manchester City always appreciated Paqueta but they invested money on Matheus Nunes, big money; so at the moment they’re not planning for that move in January.”

Infamous Newcastle United transfer link won’t go away
Another transfer rumour that doesn’t appear to be fading away is the link between Newcastle United and Paris Saint-Germain striker Hugo Ekitike.
The striker was set to be one of the PIF era’s first arrivals in January 2022 but the deal fell through as he moved to Paris on loan. That move became permanent this summer but it is thought that the French giants are looking to cash in on the star already with the player struggling for game time.

Newcastle United are still keen, according to HITC, although West Ham United and Crystal Palace are also looking into a trade, which may come at a low cost if PSG are desperate to get Ekitike off their books.
